About Radfords Software

Radfords is home to a diverse team of skilled developers, system architects, analysts, implementation and support specialists of fresh produce software. Their unique software suite has been developed from the ground up to improve quality and productivity at every stage of the value chain - from growing, packing and selling produce.

The Challenge

Radfords Software was facing a challenge with an overwhelming amount of spreadsheets and folders filled with critical data. The constant cycle of updating and maintaining these documents was taking up a significant amount of time. Conducting salary reviews was proving to be a cumbersome process, involving a lengthy exchange of spreadsheets between managers and staff. Additionally, compiling all feedback and data added another layer of complexity.

Managing employee leave had become a daunting task, requiring time and effort to track every employee's movements. There was a strong need for centralised documentation and a more efficient process for staff reviews.

These tasks were taking up more time than they had available. It was a frustrating experience for everyone involved, and at times, managers felt overwhelmed with the performance review process.

The Solution

They felt the ease of use of BambooHR and the user experience for leave management was fantastic. BambooHR's performance review process was the best one that they had seen from their evaluations. The loved that you could just set the start dates you want for the review cycle and the system would automatically send out tasks and reminders - taking all the leg work out of it for you.  

Deploying BambooHR freed up a lot more time within the HR team. They appreciated being able to access one centralised system and find exactly what they were looking for. They found the reporting easy to use and insightful, easily identifying any data gaps. No more tedious spreadsheets!

Outcome 1: Employee Data

Transitioning from a traditional spreadsheet-driven approach to the streamlined, automated system provided by BambooHR changed how the HR team and employees interacted with HR data - greatly simplifying the process.

With a central system, it was then easy to send email notifications based on dates across the account such as expiry dates, work anniversaries, birthdays, etc.

Outcome 2: Approvals 

Internal approval processes, particularly for reimbursements and salary changes have been significantly simplified compared to the previous process in place. Communication tracking and accountability in BambooHR is seamless, making it easy to refer back for clarification when needed.

The time off approval workflow has also provided relief to employees and managers making it easier to track when employees are working or on leave using the calendar widget.

Outcome 3: Performance

The Performance Management module has been highly valuable to the Radfords' team. Now a largely a set and forget review process, it ensures due dates and milestones are not missed and that employees and managers are checking in at the frequency they should be.

Outcome 4: HR Team

The HR team now has more time to focus on strategy and people. They appreciate having a central area to find exactly what they are looking for.
